Educational Farm
Gli Orti del Palladio is a family-run educational farm located in Montecchio Maggiore, near Vicenza, dedicated to the production and direct sale of locally grown (km 0) fruit and vegetables. Run by Beatrice, Elena and Antonio, the farm welcomes children and adults to discover the value of agriculture, seasonality and healthy food through hands-on experiences.
A farm that educates
Alongside daily farming activities, Gli Orti del Palladio opens its doors to schools and groups for educational outings designed to engage, inspire and educate. These experiences bring children closer to nature and rural life through observation, play and practical activities.
During the visit, participants can:
- learn how fruit and vegetables grow and are cultivated;
- enjoy a guided tour of the farm;
- use a dedicated outdoor area with park games and restrooms;
- share a healthy snack made with farm products.
Educational programs
The farm offers several flexible educational packages, tailored to different age groups, time availability and school needs.
Educational Program 1 – Half-day experience
A complete experience including use of the dedicated area, a snack and a guided farm tour. The visit can be enriched with a bread-making workshop, allowing children to experience food preparation firsthand.
Educational Program 2 – Short visit
Perfect for small groups or limited schedules: a one-hour activity including access to the outdoor area and a guided farm tour.
Educational Program 3 – Full day with lunch
A full day on the farm, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, combining educational activities, a snack and lunch at the agriturismo. The meal includes simple, genuine dishes such as pasta with tomato sauce or plain pasta, served with water.
Educational Program 4 – The farm comes to school
Not every class can travel: in this case, Gli Orti del Palladio brings the farm directly to school. Workshops are planned together with teachers and may include creative activities and special encounters, such as meeting Ginger the hen or Tom the rabbit — guests you definitely don’t expect to find in a classroom!
Agriturismo experience
Starting this year, the farm also offers an agriturismo service, allowing schools to add a meal to their educational outings. All dishes are prepared using the farm’s own produce, ensuring seasonal, fresh and locally sourced food.
